Valentines Day Waffle Brownies!

Valentines Day is upon us! I love to challenge myself every year with a new recipe. This year I have been really into baking chocolate and why not put brownie batter into the waffle maker! They were so unique and fun because there were extra places for the icing to pool up and that is one of my favorite parts of brownies with frosting!

I decided to use my heart shaped waffle iron but here is a great option you can find here! If you have a regular iron just cut the tops off to shape them into a heart! *our heart shaped one is older than I am so they're hard to find!

Brownie batter:

Melt the butter and sugar together in a heat proof bowl in the microwave in 30 second increments until melted

Stir in the cocoa powder, salt and vanilla extract until smooth

Mix in the eggs next and then add the flour until the mix is smooth and shiny looking

Heat the waffle iron on the stove and use some butter or cooking spray to coat the pan

Pour 1/4 cup of batter into the waffle pan on each side and lower the lid

When the pan starts to life flip and you should have perfect waffle brownies

Stir the ingredients for the glaze together and set aside! *you can add in food coloring if you wish!

Repeat cooking the waffles until the batter is done

When the waffles are cool, dip the waffles into the icing!

- 1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter

- 1 1/4 cup of granulated sugar

- 1 cup of unsweetened special dark cocoa powder

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 2 cold eggs

- 3/4 cup of flour * the consistency should be thicker so they don't stick in the pan

White Chocolate/ Dark Chocolate Icing:

- 1/2 cup of melted white or dark chocolate chips

- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

If you are trimming off the edges of the waffles do so before you dip into the icing, therefore the icing will cover the edges!

Enjoy! And Happy Valentines Day!
